The 'Rondo Puzzle' LP Beware Those Neon Tentacles was a concept album that was intended to be the soundtrack to an imaginary graphic novel set in a dark horror vaudeville fairground. The majority of the songs were penned and sung by Eddie Pile and again - as with 'The Stitchers' - I produced the recordings and composed the majority of instrument parts. However this time the genre was less folk pop and more psychedelic rock opera.
Eddies intelligent narrative lyrics circle around a variety of topics such as crooked and narcissistic powerful men (Bad Seed), being emotionally unavailable (Hotel), being cat-called by misogynists as a teenager (Sleazeball) and the struggles of maintaining a healthy work life balance in late stage capitalism (Juggling).
Dave Shulman plays clarinet, bass clarinet and saxophone on the recording.
